We are seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer to join our leadership team and drive operational excellence.

Position Summary
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will play a pivotal role in advancing the firm’s operational excellence, overseeing day-to-day operations, and ensuring the effective integration of key functions, including finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, and production. Reporting directly to the Managing Partner, the COO will take over responsibility and direct reporting for the firm’s administrative team.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership
    • Collaborate with the Managing Partner and leadership team to develop, implement, and refine the firm’s strategic plan.
    • Drive profitability by identifying growth opportunities, streamlining operations, and improving resource allocation.
    • Lead change management initiatives during periods of growth or restructuring to ensure a smooth transition.
    • Monitor industry trends and adjust operational strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
  2. Finance and Accounting
    • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
    • Implement and maintain cloud-based platforms for proposals, invoices and financial reporting, while managing on-going initiatives to continue with automation of routine tasks.
    • Support financial planning and analysis to enhance data-driven decision-making.
  3. Human Resources
    • Support Human Resources manager in the development and implementation of policies, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee development.
    • Support a positive workplace culture and uphold firm values and ethics.
    • Implement career development programs to enhance morale, accountability, and retention.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and engagement across all levels of the firm.
  4. Information Technology
    • Support IT staff members in modernizing the firm’s IT infrastructure, prioritizing security, redundancy, and scalability.
    • Lead change management projects as the firm moves to a fully cloud-based structure and continuously monitor advancements in AI functionality and automation.
  5. Operations
    • Oversee office operations, tenant improvements, and office relocations, ensuring projects meet time and budget goals.
    • Implement best practices to optimize resource use.
    • Monitor and enhance overall productivity and operational efficiency.
  6. Marketing and Business Development
    • Collaborate with the firm’s external marketing resources to align efforts with the firm’s growth objectives.
    • Support initiatives to improve brand visibility, client engagement, and new business development.
  7. Mergers and Acquisitions
    • Support Directors in the evaluation of mergers and acquisitions.
    • Manage post-merger integration to ensure seamless transitions and alignment with the firm’s goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA designation with previous experience in public practice preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations, finance, or administrative management within a professional services environment.
  • Proven track record in operational management, strategic planning, and financial oversight.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, growing environment.
  • Strong understanding of professional services and accounting firm dynamics.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
