27 Jul Meet Deepeka, Associate – Team Clearline

As a child, I was often asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. The answer changed every time; some days I wanted to be a dancer, and on others I wanted to be an actress on the Disney channel. My biggest role model at the time was a family friend who was an accountant. Every time she asked me this question, the answer would always be “accountant.”

In high school, I took accounting as an elective for two years and thought “hey, this is actually a lot more interesting than I had initially thought!” With the influence of my childhood role model and an awesome high school accounting teacher in the back of my mind, I decided to pursue accounting as a career. Straight out of high school, I went to BCIT and obtained my Bachelor of Technology in Accounting. Today, I am working as an Associate with Clearline CPA, slowly learning what it means to become a successful accountant.  

At Clearline, I am provided with countless opportunities to learn and apply myself. Every day, there is something new to look forward to, and walking into a cheerful office with an awesome team-oriented environment just makes it a whole lot better! Everyone has goals and I am happy to be working in a place that is as interested in helping me achieve them as I am.

Outside of the office, I try to spend as much time as possible outdoors. Whether it be hiking, snowboarding, or being a complete foodie. Recently however, Netflix seems to be winning the battle, because let’s face it, there’s nothing better than being a little lazy!
