30 Jun A Day of Fun and Community Support

On June 5th, the Surrey Board of Trade’s (SBOT) annual Fun in the Sun Networking Golf Tournament took place, and we were proud to return as sponsors for yet another year. Our involvement in the tournament has become a tradition, and this time was no different. As long-time supporters of the event, we were excited to join fellow members of the SBOT and White Rock Chamber of Commerce, as well as many of our clients who were also attending and sponsoring the tournament.

Hole-in-One Challenge on Hole 16

We had the privilege of being stationed on hole 16, a challenging par three where golfers had the chance to win a $25,000 cash prize by sinking a hole-in-one, courtesy of Clearline CPA. At 170 yards from the tee to the pin, it wasn’t an easy task, but the excitement in the air was palpable. While no one claimed the grand prize this time, we were impressed by the skill shown by several golfers. Many came within 10 feet of the flag, with the most impressive shot being hit with a 6 iron that travelled high, rolled right past the hole, and settled a mere 3 feet away!

It was a great spot for mingling, enjoying the day, and cheering on those taking their best shot at the prize. To keep everyone refreshed and energized, we were happy to hydrate golfers with Fiji Water and a variety of Bubbly can, along with some snacks from the Canadian brand MadeGood.

Silent Auction Success

In addition to the excitement on the course, the tournament also featured a silent auction, which was hosted in partnership with the SBOT and the South Surrey & White Rock Fun in the Sun Golf Tournament. The auction raised a total of $23,718, just shy of its $25,000 goal, all to support youth entrepreneur and career programs. A huge thank you goes out to all the generous donors and participants!

The auction included a variety of amazing items, such as:

• 2 round-trip business class tickets anywhere Turkish Airlines flies.
• A Napoleon Prestige BBQ for those summer cookouts.
• Hotel getaways in Whistler.
• Rounds of golf at top courses in Surrey.
• Gift cards for Amazon, restaurants, gas stations, and more.
• Fun gift baskets filled with a plethora of goodies
• Electronics such as Google Pixel Buds and a Samsung Monitor.

Next year, be sure to check out the silent auction, there will be even more incredible items up for bid, and it’s all for a great cause.

Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic

But the fun didn’t stop there. On June 26th, we were also at the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic, where we once again had a $25,000 hole-in-one challenge. This hole had a beautiful downhill view of the pin, and while several golfers came closer than ever to claiming the prize, no one made that perfect shot.

We’ll Be Back Next Year

It was a fantastic day filled with friendly competition, great conversation, and support for an important cause. We’re already looking forward to next year and will be back as sponsors at both the SBOT Fun in the Sun Golf Tournament and the Tri-Cities Golf Classic. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just getting started, all it takes is one shot for a chance at the $25,000 prize.
